Our Client Appreciation Event Concludes
Throughout October, we’ve been sharing behind-the-scenes peeks into the months of preparation for our Client Appreciation Event. In many ways, this event felt more important than my wedding. (This is a test to see if Dave Sellers reads the blog this week, ha!). But joking aside, think about it: a wedding is an event to mark the work of building a relationship between two people- both to date, and for the lifetime ahead.
And really: is the intention of our Client Appreciation Event so different? It celebrates building long-term relationships with dozens of important people: our clients. To be fair, there were a few more Powerpoint slides at this event than at my wedding, but other than that, not totally different ; )
It feels saccharine to jump straight into lessons learned or something like “5 takeaways.” Perhaps at a later date. Because although there were lots of takeaways and things I can’t wait to discuss in our retrospective, for now, I wouldn’t do a thing differently. (And if you know me, that is saying something).
Annmarie said is best: “It couldn’t have gone better.” And I wholeheartedly agree.
We presented robust education, to get all our people into their CEO Mindset:
- Optimal Growth & the End Game
- The Elements of a Business Structure for Freedom
- Strategy & the Value Stick (ohhhhh the Value Stick)
- Setting Expectations & Project Management
- Translating your Plan into SMART Goals
And then of course, the icing on the cake was Annmarie’s personal hero’s journey over the past 4 years. She kept us on the edge of our seats, with the tale and triumph of the $2M business versus the $10M business.
And although not everything was for everyone, by design; there was something for everyone. We went from inspiring stories, to technical content, to meditation and visioning, to practical and personalized action plans, to humorous case studies (hello, Peg’s Pots), to reflection and sharing. And of course, the ultimate act of client appreciation: great food.
Above all, here’s what made this year’s Client Appreciation Event the experience of my dreams: every single person showed up. As we began the day, I pulled the team aside and said, “We have worked hard for months. Trust that we’ve done the preparation. You’ve done the preparation. The mission today is: be present, be engaging, and be you.”
I think that we did all that. And we could. Because our clients received, embraced, and amplified every single bit of it. So it feels apropos to close this series on client appreciation by saying one more time to our clients: thank you. Thank you for supporting our business. And thank you for supporting me, Madyson, Tammy, Erin, and Rachel as humans. You make the job we have… such a pleasure.
