Ellevated Outcomes Ideas for Gifts
Last week, I was out with a couple girlfriends. One is in a newish relationship and the other has been with her husband for about ten years – a little less than Dave and me. The one in the newer relationship asked the question: “Do you and your significant other exchange gifts?”
I was a couple glasses of wine in so I was honest, ha! I said the thing you’re not supposed to say, but I’ve learned that many people want to say it: “I like presents! Yes, we exchange gifts.”
So yes, I admit: I like gifts. (The shame, I know!) And also: I love to give gifts, in my personal and professional life. Gifts and gratitude are my love language. To me, it’s a way to showcase creativity, thoughtfulness, and care. Therefore, if there’s anyone on your list who has impeccable taste and wants to support small business with the best humans at their helm, here are a few ideas from our portfolio of Ellevated Outcomes clients…
1 // for the carefully curated closet
MM Knitwear designs knitwear for high-style, slow fashion brands. The style featured here was sold on Goop(!). It’s recently sold out, but here’s another elegant design of MM founder Mari Medina: The Minimal Collection for Amyah.
2 // for the yogi who cares about style & substance
If the yogi in your life lives in Nashville, I highly, highly, highly suggest you get them a gift card to Hola Yoga. I’ve been practicing yoga for 24 years, and Hola is my favorite studio in the world (literally). But if the yogi in your life doesn’t live in Nashville, fear not: their fresh and stylish merch also makes a great gift.
3 // for the art lover
Mary Stengel Bentley is one of Nashville’s premier artists. You can spot her works, from beautiful home-sized drawings and paintings, to building-sized murals, in Nashville, California, and Boston. I’m lucky to have a collection of her works pieces in the Gwyneth, and I recommend her pieces as investments in your home, to inspire connection with your environment.
4 // for the plant mama/papa
Flora is Nashville’s go-to plant shop. Plant and customer care is their top priority, offering services like repotting and custom how-to (not kill your plant) care cards for those with a black thumb. Like me.
5 // for the Austin-ite who wants glowing skin
A gift card to Meg Bodi Skincare is ideal for the person who cares about skin health and their whole health. This person glows from the inside-out, as they know: their outsides are a representation of their insides. They want great skin, but more than that, they treasure the understanding and education on the journey to get it.
6 // for the Nashvillian foodie
Cafe Roze is East Nashville’s all-day cafe and bistro. Aesthetically: think Paris bistro but lighter, fresher, and hipper. Food-wise: think West Village, NYC. They serve breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner every day of the week. A meal at Cafe Roze is perfect for the foodie on your list who treasures quality time, or you can get them a gift card (like my mama did for me last Christmas).
7 // for the one with great hair
A couple years ago, Alicia, the Owner and Master Stylist of Revolve Salon in NYC and the Hamptons, gifted me some products from their Oribe line. And I must confess: my hair has never been the same. If there’s someone in your life, who you want to gift a touch of luxury to, any Oribe selection from Revolve’s product shop is a treat that will elevate their morning routine.
I don’t know about you, but my and Dave’s mom still ask for our Christmas lists (which is so sweet of course). This year, I couldn’t handle another to-do or email composition, so I said to them, “Would it be okay if I sent you a list of local, small businesses we love to buy from? You can support our friends and community, and be certain that we will use the gift.” They were thrilled at the idea, and many of these places were on the list.
I hope that your December is off to a wonderful start and that this prompts some ideas for how meaningful, thoughtful, and creative gift giving can be this year.
