Join Me… in My Home
Hi there, and happy almost-May! Though I wouldn’t say that April’s brought Ellevated Outcomes any showers (good news), I’d never wish away some delightful May flowers.
Bring them on! So in the spirit of flowers, this week, I wanted to do something wildly different from the norm and… invite you into my home. Literally, you’re invited into my IRL East Nashville home next weekend.
In past phases of my life, I’ve often kept personal and professional quite separate. So it’s been interesting to learn how amorphously Nashville operates – the total opposite of what I’m used to.
Here, it feels like people’s work and lives are completely one. And while I haven’t completely converted to this way of being (and don’t think I ever will), I have started to go with the flow more, letting work and life play together more than I ever have.
May will mark our 7 year anniversary of moving to Nashville from London. And I continue to be so thankful for how good Nashville has been to both the Sellers and to Ellevated Outcomes. This city has enriched my life and my business; and of course the two go together. The richer your life, the richer your career. And though many people don’t see it this way: I think that the richer your career, the richer your life.
So as a bit of a thank you to (East) Nashville, Dave and I are opening our home on the Lockeland Springs Home Tour next Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th; and we’d be happy to have you in to say hello. We love, love, love our neighborhood and are excited to support it – and allow Dave to keep living his 1950s fantasy, where neighbors stop by on their walks, to praise his well-behaved son (dog) and manicured lawn.
PS – I must admit: I feel a little nervous in putting myself out there in this way: our home is far from perfect, amidst Ellevated Outcomes’ network of designers, architects, and fabricators. So for me, a definite NON-pro, I’ve used it as my creative canvas over the past 7 years: a living, breathing, arts & crafts project. But alas, my commitment is made, and it’s time to get over the imperfections!
