How to Price Products & Services: Registration is Open!
I’m lucky to say that we have many loyal, thoughtful, smart followers and contributors to our work. And if you’re reading this, you’re probably one of those people. So it will come as no surprise to you that registration is open for our first Small Business MBA class: How to Price Products & Services. Tammy, Madyson, and I have been working really hard on it. So today, I’ll summarize to make everything as clear and simple as possible (hopefully)!
How to Price Products & Services
…is for you, if you’re a creative or small business owner (freelancers and solopreneurs absolutely count).
This is for you if you…
- Have been in business at least one year
- Sell products, services, or a combination of both
- Feel like your business is very personal, and your clients do too
- Enjoy learning
I have been doing this product and pricing work for the past 12 years of my career. And I’ve been teaching it to small businesses for the past 4 years. You’ve seen the outcomes we’ve shared, showcasing (as one example) +40% year over year real income growth and -20% working time.
I so eagerly want other small businesses to be able to receive these outcomes too. This process creates clarity, focus, and intention. It helps each of us to do better, higher-quality work and show up in the world with intention and integrity. And it’s in direct alignment with our lofty vision at Ellevated Outcomes – to become the most sought after resource for small businesses who contribute to the economy with intention.
This course goes deep on the 5 steps of our How to Price methodology:
1. Art of Pricing
2. How to Collect Data
3. Finding your Sweet Spot
4. Designing the Approach to Market
5. Test, Learn, & Refine
What’s special about this time around is that I’ll be teaching it live (and this won’t be happening again for this material). That means, if you like, we can interact, and you’ll get your specific questions answered. There’s also an optional upgrade for those A students 😉 who enjoy personalized attention and want a 1-1 review of your work and pricing model.
Believe me when I tell you: I am well aware of the scarcity tactics of online marketing, and I realize some of the limitations we’re placing on this course may have that effect. Our team actually had an internal debrief about this on Friday so that we could clarify our intentions and the “why?” behind each decision we made. And I want to be very clear – there are some “scarce” elements, but each has a reason.
Here are details on the course offer:
- Registration is open this week and closes Friday at 5P CST.
- We are taking only a small number of people, as we want quality and personalized interaction, with a fun, smart, group of colleagues (aka – those of you seeking to move forward, up, bigger + wider for your business – not out of desperation – but a consistent desire for learning and growth.)
- This will be the only time this class is taught with a live component.
- At the moment, this is the only way to work with us. Our advisory practice is at full capacity, to ensure that we take the best care of our current clients.
- Pricing is meant to be affordable. It’s $397 for the course only, with an option to pay $1497 for a personalized review of your work (by me!) at the end of the course. This is a different model than the intimate Advisory Practice mentioned above, and it is intentionally priced… very differently. Bluntly, I want the class to fill, and I want it to feel like an easy, no-brainer investment.
Beginning next week, we will meet every Tuesday from February 8th, until March 8th, at 12p EST / 11a CST.
If you can’t (or don’t want to) join live, please don’t let that stop you. Each class will be recorded and sent to you, swiftly on the same day.
We’re also offering a couple gifts for registering during this term: our signature “how to say no nicely” email template, plus a script for how to confidently and generously communicate price changes. I realize that these little bonuses sound so simple; but actually, they’re ease-of-use game changers.
How to Price Products & Services is the process that I refresh for our business, each and every year. It assures that we’re making money while working with the right people for our business model.
And while I enjoy making money, the thing that really gives me the greatest pride of our business, is the people we get to work with every day. Creating products for – and working with – people you love being around is the whole point of owning a small business.
This process shows you the sweet spot between the precise thing that you love to do / make and the ideal customers who will pay the right price for that thing. Each of us is a small business owner. So if we’re not out there making money and meaning, what really are we doing?
If you’re intent on making more money and meaning in 2022, while simplifying, I’d love to show you how. Please join me.
